“Inpart, this increase may reflect the timing of multi-week Chinese New Yearfactory closures, which occurred in Asia on January 31,” the port said.
Containerimports surged 42% to 327,497-teu in March. Exports rose 21%, from 154,428-teuin March 2013 to 187,826-teu last month.
Combined,total loaded imports and exports increased 34%, from 385,825-teu to 515,323-teu,the US west coast port said.
