The Port of Los Angeles reported that last month it handled its largest volume in monthly containers since September 2012.
Overall, the biggest container terminal in the Americas saw volumes increased by almost 14% year-on-year to 736,438-teu.
Container imports rose 16.55%, from 328,324-teu a year ago to 382,666-teu in June 2014. Exports rose 8.5% to 160,823-teu.
For the first six months of calendar year 2014, Los Angeles’ overall volumes increased 9.2%
