Israel calls pulled

Two more cruise lines have halted calls in Israel as violence in Gaza continues.

Sister companies Regent Seven Seas and Ocean Cruises will bypass Haifa this summer.

A Seven Seas ship was due there during 20-day and 32-day cruises that left on 19 July, while Oceania was due on 8 September.

The calls were replaced by stops in Mykonos, Greece, and Antalya and Alanya in Turkey, according to Travel Pulse.

“We continue to monitor the situation in Israel and will adjust future itineraries should the need warrant,” the companies said. “Our primary concern is to ensure the safety and security of our guests and crew.”

The move comes two weeks after German line AIDA cancelled an Israeli call after rocket shrapnel fell on to outside decks of one of its vessels docked at Ashdod. No one was injured.
