It said the unnamed 8,063-teu vessel (built 2005) will be delivered in the fourth quarter.
Only two ships in the world fleet fit the criteria, both owned by OOCL: the OOCL Atlanta and the OOCL Tianjin.
The ship is being chartered back to the “major container liner company” for between 36 to 39 months, at a rate of $34,500 per day.
This will give revenue of between $37.7m
