It said the bareboat deal for the 20,900–gt passenger and freight ro-ro Finnsailor (built 1987) will end in January, 2015.

The vessel is chartered from subsidiary Finnlines Belgium.

But, following a review of tonnage requirements and use for next year, the ship was identified as “clearly unprofitable” in Finnlines' own liner traffic, “taking into account the predominant over-capacity and also the changes in environmental legislation” as low-sulphur fuel rules enter force next January.

The
