The Florida-based port said it handled 272,524-teu in the 2014 fiscal year versus the 226,938-teu achieved a year ago.

“The Asian container trade is the fastest growing segment of our container cargo business, accounting for nearly 30% in 2014, up from 24% the previous fiscal year,” Jaxport said.

The port says it has recorded an average of 28.5% annual growth in Asian container volumes during the past five years.
