The Japanese owner said it plans to reduce its emissions by 10% from the 2011 level by 2019 and halve them by 2050.
It added that it will try to reduce air pollution as close to zero as possible while properly disposing of its waste.
K Line has already conducted detailed studies on LNG-fuelled carriers, while it is currently building a large car carrier as an environmental flagship vessel.
