The Titanic II project is two years behind schedule.
Workers at the Chinese yard told The Australian daily the project was yet to be given the formal go-ahead.
One, named as Wang, said: “That ship was just a proposal. It’s never been carried out and the project has never launched.”
Palmer’s Blue Star Line reportedly signed a memorandum of understanding with AVIC Kaixin Beijing Ship Industry last year to help promote the project and provide funding.
