The French liner group’s founder has been decorated with the Commander of the National Order of the Legion of Honor.
Saade received the decoration from the French president Francois Hollande at the Elysee Palace in Paris earlier this week.
The ceremony was attended by members of Saade’s family, while several ministers and corporate executives were also present.
During his speech the French president is said to have recognized Saade’s “outstanding achievement” in building one of the world’s leading container shipping companies in just a few decades.
