Shipping should feature in any trade discussions held between Europe and Africa.
This is according to the European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA).
It views the African economy as one of the most promising global growth markets.
ECSA wants a level playing field in terms of investment opportunities for European companies, it said.
