Norway's GC Rieber Shipping has returned to profit in the fourth quarter after booking a currency gain on its new seismic vessel joint venture with Rasmussengrupppen.
The company said net earnings to 31 December were NOK 52.6m ($6.28m), against a loss of NOK 400.1m a year ago.
This was due to a NOK 285m foreign currency translation when it separated its four seismic ships into the new Shearwater GeoServices in December.
