Offshore veteran Christian Berg has launched a new business largely tailored to finding work for ships in lay-up or to manage ones seized by banks, as a part of distressed niche growing out of the global crisis for offshore support vessels (OSVs).

“This current market is evolving into a situation where more and more ships will be owned by banks and financial institutions that do not necessarily want to own a ship and, not least, to manage it,” Berg told TradeWinds.
