Norway's Shearwater GeoServices has won a large seismic survey contract off Myanmar from Total and Eni.
The geophysical company said the 10,000 sq km survey area is 300km offshore.
Shearwater will deploy the 22-streamer Polar Empress (built 2015) for the work, which is expected to take about six months from January.
CEO Irene Waage Basili said: "Shearwater has undertaken a significant effort since its inception to pre-qualify for work with major oil companies.
