Vroon OSV test reveals 100,000-litre fuel saving

Vroon Offshore Services (VOS) has revealed an OSV test that has demonstrated a fuel saving of 100,000 litres per year.

The nine-month trial was carried out on the 4,100-dwt Vos Partner (built 2016) in the North Sea.

"Previously, operators had to base engine selection on rigid kW load points and then run all engines at an equal load. Now, with MEO, they gain the ability to operate engines at independent load factors, significantly reducing fuel consumption," it said.
