The stock finished up $2.37, or 11%, at $24.37 per share at the close on Friday. At their peak the shares topped $25 each.

The strong start for the Seadrill offshoot was in stark contrast to the broader stock market which staged its biggest one-day tumble in months.

It sold 8.75m units at the high end of its expected range of $20 to $22 per unit in a deal estimated to generate net proceeds of $175.5m.
