Petrobras will keep the 4,680-dwt Far Supporter (built 1996) for a further three years.
The energy firm took the vessel on a three-year deal in early 2010 and just recently exercised a two month option.
Karl Johann Bakken-led Farstad will pocket NOK 175m ($30m) for the latest contract, or around $27,400 per day.
The rate is in line with that paid by Petrobras recently to charter in 24 vessels as part of its PSV 3000-class tender.
