The ship will bebuilt at Damen Shipyards’ wharf in Romania and is due to be completed by theend of 2014.
Rotterdam-based Van Oordsaid the ship is intended for the installation of electricity cables foroffshore wind parks.
Thecompany is making preparations for the Gemini wind park project which will be built60km to the north of Schiermonnikoog.
Van Oord said the newbuilding would likely be used on this project, which is situated off the Dutch coast.
