Svitzer eyes big target

Tug group Svitzer will begin operations in Rotterdam for the first time from 1 June.

The AP Moller-Maersk company said its fleet will be located in the heart of the Maasvlakte terminal.

Europe managing director Peter Rondhuis said: “The operation in Rotterdam is fully in line with our ambition to increase our footprint in Europe based on client requests.”

“As a global market leader in towage it is exciting for Svitzer to start its operations in the busiest port in Europe.”

Svitzer is the world’s largest towing company, with a fleet of more than 500 vessels.
