Colombo Dockyard won the order for the 150-bp ships from an undisclosed buyer in August.
Wartsila will equip the ships with a 9-cylinder Wartsila 32 engine operating on marine diesel oil and will also provide controllable pitch propeller systems and tunnel thrusters.
There is an option for two more identical vessels to be exercised by the beginning of 2015.
