German manager Harms Bergung has been trying to prevent the disposal of the ships to Teekay-owned ALP Maritime Services.
The managers of the KG said in a press statement they had decided to sell the anchor-handlers in September and had now terminated the deal with Harms.
Co-managing director of the KG group, Thomas Rogalla, said: "In a nutshell, the investors look for an advantageous exit, as half of the vessels have not even earned their depreciation."
