The mid-size GMS Shamal is currently being built at GMS' own facility in Abu Dhabi for delivery in the second quarter of 2015.
It will go straight to a national oil company in the Middle East for two firm years, plus three annual options.
The ship has been modified to support well service work.
Changes include the supply and installation of pumping equipment and gas lines, the enlargement of the on-board brine capacity and the optimisation of the crane configuration.
