A build-up of tonnage in North Sea ports has pushed platform supply vessel (PSV) rates down to near-record lows.
Ostensjo Rederi’s 4,000-dwt Edda Frigg (built 1997) secured only £2,500 ($3,295) per day for three days of supply work from Wood Group, brokers said. Other vessels managed around £3,000.
This kind of level is a return to the dark days of 2015 that prompted owners to start laying up ships in huge quantities.
