Emas Offshore has defaulted on charter payments for two vessels owned by Ocean Yield and Forland Subsea.

The Ezra-controlled company told Forland it was unable to settle the outstanding charter for the 110-loa Lewek Inspector (built 2013) for October due to financial distress.

Forland said it would explore the consequences of the payment default and the options available.

Chief executive Frode Bjorn Forland declined to give guidance over the size of the unpaid charter.
