John Fredriksen’s privately owned Seatankers has set up a new company called Northern Drilling to own the two semi-submersible drilling rigs it is buying.
TradeWinds reported on Saturday that Fredriksen is acquiring the West Mira (built 2014) and the Bollsta Dolphin from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI).
He has already raised $230m for Northern Drilling, industry sources say.
TradeWinds could not obtain comment from Seatankers at the time of writing.
