Chile’s Luksic Group has made its first move since acquiring domestic towage company SAAM last month.
Damen Shipyards said the Chilean owner has placed orders for two ASD tugs 2411.
A joint venture between SAAM and Smit ordered two other ASD tugs for operations in Panama last year.
The vessels have already been built in Vietnam and will be delivered to SAAM in three months.
