An Irish research ship has been detained by Arab coalition forces in a mix-up over a cargo bound for Yemen.
The 1,250-dwt Mainport Cedar (built 2013), which was carrying humanitarian supplies, was diverted late last week to Jizan in Saudi Arabia en route to Hodeidah from Djibouti.
The Irish Times said owner Mainport, of Cork, confirmed the ship, with 13 crew on board, was still being held there on Tuesday.
