A supramax owned by Eastern Mediterranean (EastMed) of Greece has been refloated today, after spending two days stuck on an Argentinian river.

Argentina's maritime agent NABSA said the 50,961-dwt Eleni M (built 2001) was freed with the assistance of three tugs.

The vessel grounded close to the Nueva Palmira port, where the Parana Bravo river flows into Uruguayan waters.

Navigation in the area has now been re-opened in both directions without restrictions, NABSA said.
