US authorities have scaled back clean-up operations in Los Angeles harbour following an oil spill from a Ray Car Carriers vessel.

The US Coast Guard (USCG) said the safety zone that had restricted recreational and commercial vessel traffic in the affected area has been reduced, after clean-up efforts continued to show progress.

“The Commodore Schuyler F Heim Bridge has resumed operations and the Cerritos channel has been opened to normal traffic,” the USCG said.
