Swedish Orient Line (SOL) has snapped up three ro-ro vessels from Viking Supply Ships.
The deal for the ice-class 1A trio appears to mark the end of Viking’s subsidiary Rederi AB Transatlantic’s interest in the sector.
SOL said the vessels are the 23,100-gt Transtimber (built 2007), Transpulp and Transpaper (both built in 2006).
The ships - to be renamed Thuleland, Tundraland and Tavastland - are time-chartered to paper group Stora Enso.
