Idan Ofer’s Eastern Pacific Shipping of Singapore is prepared to sell its final VLCC. Sources say the 299,000-dwt Maritime Jewel (built 2000) can be inspected in Singapore from this week.
It is considered an open issue whether the tanker will attract interest from a trading buyer, although one market source says the ship will not be sold for demolition.
The DSME-built ship is a fairly attractive prospect as special survey is not due until May 2019.
