London-listed Goldenport has sold the 2,420-teu MSC Anafi (built 1994) to Gunehr Shipping of Nevis for scrap.

Goldenport said in a statement it would carry a book loss of $3.9m on the deal.

It explains cash from the sale will go towards clearing debt on the ship of $4.55m.

MSC Anafi is the third boxship scrapped by Goldenport this year after the 1,923-teu MSC Accra (built 1985) and the 3,000-teu MSC Scotland (built 1992).
