It said the orders comprise converted options for two 82,000-dwt bulkers, one 208,000-dwt bulker and four 10,000-teu containerships.

The Singapore-listed company said the other 11 contracts were new orders for 82,000-dwt bulkers.

The 18 newbuildings are due for delivery between 2015 and 2017, the shipbuilder said. No financial details were disclosed.

The identity of the shipowners involved was also not disclosed, but at least two owners have confirmed orders at the yard in recent days.
