Moundreas company NGM Energy has bought the 149,000-dwt Pacific Challenger (built 1995) and Pacific Enterprise (built 1996) from Island Navigation, sources say.
Brokers are placing a price of just $13m on each of the vessels, which were built at Dalian New Yard.
Some sources suggest that the double buy looks like a coup from the owner.
They point to the reported sale of the Japanese built, 172,000-dwt, Lian Fu Star (built 1997) for $18.5m
