The 26,400-dwt Ocean Spirit (built 1996)was sold off by the island’s civil court last year, but only now has the lenderbeen cleared to bank EUR 1.99m ($2.76m), Malta Today reported.
The case arose from the agreed disposal ofthe then Sophie Bolten by Colas Rose to German company Orange 10 in 2008 for EUR17.62m.
The bank provided a mortgage of EUR 24.4m,but the deal was only concluded in 2011 and the ship renamed Emma-Sophie.
