In a statement Wednesday Yangzijiang said it hadwon an order to build four 260,000-dwt VLOCs for an Australian mining firm.
The shipbuilder did not disclose the identity ofthe counterparty for the vessels which will be delivered in 2016 and 2017.
“The group has observed that shipowners areenhancing their focus on vessels’ operational efficiencies and as a result, theshipbuilding industry is experiencing a rise in demand for larger vessels thatprovides higher carrying capacity,” said Yangzijiang executive chairman RenYuanlin.
