The 12,500-dwt ships have been contracted at Usuki Shipyard and are due for delivery in July 2016 and September 2016 respectively.
On delivery the two tankers will be chartered to Stolt NYK Asia Pacific Services (SNAPS). No financial terms were disclosed.
NYK said the new tankers will replace tonnage which is currently slated for retirement or redelivery.
These two new vessels, which will feature 18 stainless-steel cargo tanks, will be the ninth and tenth vessels in the NSSH fleet.
