August saw exports orders for ten ships of 442,170-gt reported, according to the Japan Ship Exporters’ Association (JSEA).
The ten orders comprised a single ore carrier, four panamaxes, four handymaxes and a single handysize bulker.
Twelve months ago JSEA member shipyards reported newbuilding contracts for 19 ships of 642,584-gt fifteen of which were bulkers.
Between April and August 2014 (FY2014) JSEA yards have reported newbuilding contracts for 153 ships of 6.3mgt.
