Hong Kong-listed Sinotrans Shipping has snapped up two modern capesize bulkers for $98.5m combined.
The company said it had agreed to acquire the 179,000-dwt ER Beilun and ER Brazil (both built 2010) from companies controlled by ER Schiffahrt of Germany.
It added: “The acquisitions will enable the company to expand its self-owned fleet of dry-bulk vessels.”
The deal expands the owner’s capesize stable to eight vessels, all built in 2010 and 2011.
