The 4,350-dwt Victoria Mathias (built 2011) has a 1,000-tonne-capacity crane and will be renamed MPI Enterprise.
It can operate in depths of up to 45 metres
The ship will operate under the Dutch flag. No price has been disclosed.
Vroon said the vessel will continue its current charter at RWE’s offshore windfarm Nordsee Ost off Germany.
“We will work closely with the existing ship management company, NSB, for the foreseeable future, to combine the best processes of both companies and ensure continuity of the vessel’s impressive performance,” it added.
