The ship will be a replacement for a unit that was sold two years ago, Moray Council said.

The new vessel will be built at Macduff’s Buckie harbour plant, which the company acquired last year.

The 25.7m-long ship is expected to be delivered in spring 2016.

It will service Moray’s harbours: Buckie, Burghead, Hopeman, Findochty, Portknockie and Cullen.

The yard has designed the ship itself.
