The company told the Taiwan Stock Exchange that it would build two vessels to replace veterans in its fleet.

This would give it more environmentally friendly, fuel-efficient, high-performance carriers, it added.

U-Ming is listed as owning five cement ships built in 1980, 1987, 1989, 1993 and 1995.

They range in size from 6,000 dwt to 12,000 dwt.

The company gave no further information on a new order.
