The global bulker fleet needs "drastic supply-side measures" to plot a course towards profitability as owners face a "perfect storm", according to consultancy Drewry.

In its Dry Bulk Forecaster report, it said that if half of all capesize ships over 12 years old, equating to around 20m dwt of capacity, were removed from the market, accounts would turn black by 2018.

"If
