Germany's Jungerhans has signed for up to eight new feederships in China.
Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard said it had contracted four firm 1,000-teu vessels, with four options.
They have been designed by CIMC Marine Engineering Ship Design and Research Institute.
Brokers said delivery will be between July and October 2017, with the deal signed in December. No price was given.
Jungerhans is a boxship and heavy lift specialist.
