Greek shipowner FreeSeas has confirmed that it has disposed of one of its two remaining handysize bulkers.
The Ion Varouxakis-led shipowner said the 23,994-dwt Free Maverick (built 1998) had been sold for $1.92m to unrelated third parties.
Back in July 2016 FreeSeas had denied shipbroker reports that the Mitsubishi-built ship had been sold for $1.6m.
The company's shares have been trading on the US over-the-counter market since April, when the Nasdaq suspended its listing.
