Dubai tanker owner Gulf Navigation (GNH) is aiming to launch shipbuilding and repair operations in the UAE.
It announced the study phase of its Northern Project over the weekend.
The plan takes in yard operations, as well as equipment and services, logistics and specialised marine operations, plus a global mobile shiprepair scheme.
The owner said the number of monthly vessel calls for repair at Fujairah anchorage and Khorfakkan comes to about 550 ships.
