Korean shipbuilder DSME is to benefit from further state aid of KRW 2.9 trillion ($2.6bn).

State lenders Korea Development Bank and Export-Import Bank of Korea (Kexim) announced on Thursday a new range of measures designed to ease its cash problems, with bond payments looming.

The restructuring shipbuilder will bank fresh loans of KRW 2.9 trillion if lenders and bondholders agree to swap the same amount of debt for equity.
