Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has secured an order for six newbuildings from regular customer Torstein Hagen.

Pen met paper on the contract at Seatrade Cruise Global in Florida this week.

The ships will be delivered to Viking Cruises between 2024 and 2027 and take the owner’s tally of newbuild at Fincantieri to 16, four of which have been delivered.

Giuseppe Bono, chief executive of Fincantieri, said the partnership with Viking started in 2012 and the latest deal means the yard will have built more ships for the company than any other customer.
