Hyundai Mipo workers are to receive paid leave as the Korean yard looks to reduce capacity in the order slump.
Management and unions agreed to compromise on the issue as an alternative to sending staff home for a month with no wages, the Yonhap news agency said.
The company had also suggested a temporary suspension of benefits, but this was dropped after opposition from the union.
