Japan's Mitsui Engineering and Shipbuilding (MES) could be about to split into three different business units.
After a board meeting on 30 March, it said it would consider moving to a holding company system.
This would involve setting up subsidiaries called Ship & Ocean, Machinery and Engineering, the Asiasis website reported.
The idea is to allow the units to make quick decisions and review merger and acquisitions strategy.
