VLCC rates continue to strengthen with high volumes out of the Middle East driving the improvement.
Arctic Securities this morning placed VLCC rates at $40,000 per day out of the region, a 50% rise over the past week.
Later in the day, the Baltic Exchange put the rate even higher, estimating a one-day gain of 10.3% to bring the day’s time-charter equivalent assessment to more than $44,300 per day.
